The National Jersey Youth Achievement Contest was created in 1957. It honors outstanding achievement in four areas: work with Registered JerseysTM, related dairy activities, relative progress, and future goals.
Application Deadline
if you are from a state that does not have an active organization (see below), or
if you are a state organization nominee or are qualified from the 2024 contest. Late applications will not be accepted. Date of submission will be determined by visible USPS postmark or email date/time stamp.
Eligibility
Applicant must (1) own one or more Registered Jerseysâ„¢, (2) be at least sixteen (16) and be no older than twenty (20) years of age on January 1, 2025 and (3) be a member (junior or lifetime) of the American Jersey Cattle Association not later than December 31, 2025.
Eligible by Previous Ranking: Any person ranked second through tenth in the previous year’s (2024) National Jersey Youth Achievement Contest who meets ownership, age and membership requirements is eligible to apply.
Nomination Procedures
State Organizations: Nominate two eligible juniors each year. The state association secretary or the youth committee chair must provide the names of the state nominees to the American Jersey Cattle Association no later than March 1, 2026.
States with Inactive Organization (applies to any state without an active Jersey youth organization): Complete this form and send to the AJCA office to arrive no later than March 15, 2026. The AJCA Director representing your state will conduct the initial screening of the applicants and submit no more than two eligible nominees for the contest.
